Welcome to The Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy Limited.

AACBT’s individual state branches have been working in close cooperation over the last few years to improve our structure and processes. The branches will soon be merging into one entity: The Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy Limited.

What does this mean for members? The main change that members will notice is that we will be inviting you to transfer your membership to the new organisation. The state associations will then be disbanded as separate entities and state committees will then form part of the new organisation.

In consultation with a law firm that specialises in assisting not-for-profit organisations, the national executive has prepared a constitution for the new organisation. The legal structure is a Company Limited by Guarantee, which is the structure for not-for-profit organisations in Australia that operate outside their home state.

We expect that the new structure will allow for better governance of the organisation. The organisation will be subject to the Companies Act, like the many other not-for-profit organisations in Australia that use this structure.

More information and a new website coming soon! Please check this website for updates on the national structure, events, and new memberships. Below please find the links for each of the current state branches.
